The Movie Guilt Trip
There are two main characters. The mother is named Joyce and the son of Joyce is named Andy. In the beginning of the movie the mom was very controlling and trying to run his life. She felt like she has no purpose in life because her husband died and her Andy was moved out. The signs of Late Adulthood were showing up. Joyce felt like she had to help Andy with everything and tell him what to do. She asked him many questions. But if Andy asked her any questions she didn't answer. Joyce did not want the attention on her. When Andy asked his mom why she didn't date or go on dates she replied with "Oh don't be gross Andy!"
By the middle of the movie they got into a few fights. Joyce tried giving Andy advice about his product and he didn't want help from his mother. Andy felt that his mom was being to pushy and he thought she was very annoying. He wanted to be left alone and all she could do was talk. When they got to the hotel she did not want separate rooms she wanted to be with her son at all times. Finally, Andy had enough and started yelling at his mom. She yelled right back. Then she left and he felt bad. The weird thing is she still ate m&ms in her bed after her husband died. She does not need to hide them anymore.
By the end of the movie they started understanding each other. Joyce got closer from her old boyfriend and Andy telling her he didn't move to get away from her. They stopped telling each other what to do. Joyce finally could live her life. She felt free. Joyce even called Ben back to go on a date. The trip helped Andy and Joyce understand one another. Andy started to understand the stage of late adulthood in his mom and he did all he could to help her.
